Unity in Architecture
Far Far Away has the same three branches of government as the United States: Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, and Judicial Branch. All three of these branches have an office that is operated by the members of the branch. Because of the unity of the country, all three of these offices have been placed in the same building. This building is very symbolic in its architecture, with several different features that are unique to the country.
The Executive Branch, located in the back of the building, is the largest chamber in the building. This office makes the most important decisions in running the country and needs the most office space. Though regardless of making important decisions, because of the other offices being so accessible, they are able to call meetings together to discuss important matters that may come up with reference to the other offices.
The Legislative Branch offices are located on the left side of the building. It is the same size as the Judicial office chamber, but they are both smaller than the Executive chamber. This part of the government officiates separately from the other two branches, but still makes important decisions. Same as the Executive branch, if a meeting is needed between two or more of the offices, it is easily arranged.
The offices for the Judicial Branch are positioned on the right side of the building. This government typically operates beneath the other two. It has much importance to the running of the government, but this branch does not contain the authority that the others do. The Judicial officials do not call meetings with the other offices simply because they don’t need to, though their presence may often be requested at meetings of the offices.
The architecture is very unique, and not typical. With its wavy lines and particular stained glass windows, it is a one of a kind symbol of the country itself. A stained glass unicorn is placed in the highest part of the building and is a very allegorical embellishment with its reference to the unicorns on the land and in the country’s coat of arms. The decision to create this one story building to house all the government branches was made because the people wanted the country to be a symbol of unity to everyone around them. The people work together as one, and the architecture (and the use of it) is the epitome of unity.
Overall, the alliance of this country is proved in its architecture. It pulled the people together by pulling their government together. It literally forces them to work together, which is why this country is run so swiftly and smoothly. No hitches or problems can falter this government, because they always come together and find a way to work it out.
